Fleas on pets

Fleas on pets are where most of us start.

It goes something like this - your pet starts scratching more, and you look out the window and Spring is in the air. And when you check you pet you find a flea - or more to the point, many fleas on your pet.

But as the vet will tell you - the fleas on your pet are just the tip of the iceberg. As well as fleas on your pet, once your pet gets fleas you'll also get fleas in carpets and rugs.

Fleas on pets are the tip of the iceberg for a few reasons:

  1. It's normally a few week until you first find the fleas
  2. In the few weeks above the fleas have been breeding.
  3. These breeding fleas have laid about 20-30 flea eggs per day and these are now in your house and yard.

But it's not all bad.

The flea life cycle also means that your pet is an integral part of the process. If you can kill fleas dead on your pet, you can block the flea life cycle.

So you'll see fleas on your pet or pets first - and then you'll take action and clean up the fleas on your pet second. After that your pets environment should be looked after well.

Check you pets for fleas and then kill those same fleas on your pet.
